Case Study – Digital Queuing System for the healthcare sector
Initial situation
At one client’s facility, staff had previously been calling patients by name, which is both inefficient and, from a data protection perspective, not ideal in crowded waiting areas. The healthcare facility was looking for a solution that would call patients anonymously — and it had to be an offline (standalone) option, since the facility handles sensitive data and required risk-free, continuous operation.
Solution
FRAMR. enables patients to take a ticket with a unique number (thermal print) at the check-in terminal. Staff view the queue in real time via an administrative backend and, with a single click, call up the next number — including the room assignment — on the display. Administration is handled through a backend accessible via an IP address (standalone) or a URL (Internet) in a browser. With just one click, the next person in the queue is identified, and a number with a room assignment appears on the display — or is announced via the text-to-speech function.
Technical challenge
Experience shows that healthcare facilities seek standalone versions without an internet connection to ensure risk-free continuous operation. With FRAMR., we can guarantee this, as our applications are also available as on-premise solutions.
Result
With FRAMR., patients are called by numbers rather than names to ensure anonymity; staff have a clear overview of the queue at all times; and patient communication becomes more transparent while also offering greater accessibility and automation.
