Digital customer information in the shopping mall
Shopping & Retail

About the project / Initial situation
The facilities management team at PlusCity utilizes the FRAMR. Portable as a mobile digital signage stand. The system is flexibly positioned wherever information is currently required — for instance, during cleaning operations, in the event of technical malfunctions or during temporary closures.
Challenges and objectives
Visitors to PlusCity should be able to immediately identify:
- which area is currently unavailable,
- why a restriction is in place,
- which alternative options are available
- and how to safely navigate the premises.
Traditional printouts or analog signage stands are often not suited for this purpose. They must be created, printed and regularly replaced. Furthermore, hastily produced signage can quickly appear inconsistent and unprofessional within a modern shopping mall environment.
Specifically for spontaneous maintenance or repair operations by the facilities team, a solution was required that:
- is mobile and deployable anywhere,
- can be updated on short notice,
- projects a professional image
- and remains immediately visible even when moved to different locations.
Solutions for the company
With the FRAMR. Portable, PlusCity has adopted a mobile digital signage solution designed for context-specific visitor information.
This digital signage stand can be flexibly positioned directly at the point of need, for example:
- outside restrooms during cleaning,
- next to a malfunctioning elevator,
- at an escalator that is out of order,
- at temporarily closed-off areas,
- during maintenance or repair work
- or to provide wayfinding to alternative entrances.
Typical use cases at PlusCity include:
Restroom cleaning
Visitors are informed of cleaning operations directly at the entrance and directed to alternative restroom facilities.
Elevator out of order
In the event of technical malfunctions, the FRAMR. Portable provides information regarding alternative barrier-free access routes and assists with visitor flow management.
Escalator under maintenance
Maintenance work is communicated in advance, allowing visitors to take alternative routes and minimizing inquiries.
Temporary closures and service notices
In the event of technical inspections, repairs, safety measures or short-term closures, information can be updated and displayed instantly without the need for new printouts.
To meet these requirements, the FRAMR. Portable offers the ideal technical specifications:
- 42-inch portrait display
- 1,500 nits brightness
- Automatic brightness adjustment
- Integrated battery
- Up to 16 hours of battery life
- 50,000 mAh battery capacity
- Wheeled base for easy relocation
- Robust metal housing with tempered glass
- IP65 protection
- FRAMR. OS, plus Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity
