Background

AK Linz needed an outdoor communication solution that would remain clearly legible even in direct sunlight — and the solution also had to be compatible with the existing IGEL operating system. With these requirements in mind, the AK Linz approached us: A double-sided display was to be installed at the rear main entrance of the headquarters to inform staff indoors while also drawing the attention of passersby to events and news.

Solution

To meet the requirements, a double-sided 75-inch display was installed; thanks to its high brightness, it remains clearly visible outdoors even in daylight. To ensure the installation blends harmoniously with the existing architecture, the display frame was painted in a shade that matches the existing window frames exactly. In addition, the display’s brightness automatically adjusts to the lighting conditions.

From a technical standpoint, only an HDMI input was required to integrate content directly from the AK Linz’ existing IGEL operating system. This allowed the existing infrastructure to be utilized seamlessly while creating a modern digital signage solution that works for both internal and external communication.
