Case Study – Surace – Digital Table Displays with Automatic Table Recognition

For SURACE al dente in PlusCity, we implemented 50 digital table displays featuring 5-inch E-Ink screens. These energy-efficient devices are fully integrated into the online reservation system and can be centrally managed via FRAMR.Bookings.

Upon arrival, each guest is greeted with a personalized welcome message and directly assigned to a table – displayed clearly, modernly, and efficiently on the respective screen.

Automatic Table Recognition via Bluetooth Beacons

In the hospitality industry, table designations often change – due to flexible seating arrangements or misplacement of displays. To ensure accurate information is always shown, we integrated intelligent table recognition using Bluetooth beacons. The system automatically detects which table each display is located on – with no manual input required from staff.

Efficient operation thanks to modern E-Ink technology

The E-Ink technology used stands out for its extremely low power consumption, enabling operation for up to 8 months without recharging (depending on update frequency). Wireless charging is conveniently handled via inductive charging technology, similar to that used in the automotive industry.
